Clemente serves the underserved. Our human-centric approach has enabled us to develop real relationships and faithful enrollment with our communities.

MOST TRANSPARENT, RESPONSIVE & ORGANIZED IN THE INDUSTRY

Conducting clinical trials takes a lot of planning, patience, and precision—for everyone involved. Clemente provides clients with the highest level of service and support throughout the trial, because we plan meticulously, execute precisely, and expect the unexpected.

Our Benefits

At our core, Clemente is committed to providing our clients with the highest level of service and support. We believe to conduct successful clinical trials and improve healthcare outcomes, we need some key attributes, like responsiveness, organization, and attention to detail. We’re pretty proud of how we provide our clients with these three things, among others. And, we’re dedicated to delivering on this promise every day.

Team

  • Our head honcho is Dr. Stan Mathis, DPM. A highly regarded and accomplished podiatrist, Dr. Mathis has more than 25 years of experience leading residency programs, opening new medical groups and clinics, and establishing limb preservation centers.

  • Our team of sub-investigators is comprised of doctors from our podiatry medical group and affiliated specialties. Our clinical research coordinators come with years of experience and, like everyone on our staff, are fully certified in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Integrated Approaches to Testing and Assessment (IATA).

  • Clemente’s podiatry medical group, which spans 31 different clinics, specializes in diabetic wound care, orthopedic surgery, and limb preservation. Our best-in-class podiatry team is additionally bolstered through our wide range of affiliated doctors across multiple specialties.

Patients

  • Throughout our 31 medical clinics across Los Angeles and Orange County, we see more than 60,000 patients every year. As we continue to grow, so does our patient pool broadening our capabilities, research, and access to new treatments.

  • The majority of our patients are Hispanic, speak Spanish, and are diabetic. Our doctors and clinical research coordinators cater to our distinct patients’ needs and work to ensure they feel heard, respected, and valued. The patients we support and provide care to are from underserved, minority populations, and rural areas that typically don’t get the focus they deserve. We are on a mission to fix that.

  • We strive for simplicity and do all of our recruitment in-house. We’ve got relationships built on trust with our large patient population, so keeping things in the family just makes sense. Pulling from our 26 medical clinics and limb preservation center, our eight doctors and six residences refer patients to studies when there is a clear benefit. This allows our doctors the ability to continue treating their own patients throughout the trial. And, provides patients the ability to maintain familiar relationships throughout an unfamiliar process.

Dedicated Sites

  • Our clinical trial centers are strategically placed to be close to where our patients are. Clemente is located at 1700 E Cesar E Chavez Suite 3100 Los Angeles, California 90033 to be near where our Los Angeles patients live and already receive regular medical care.

  • Clemente is fully supported by the latest in remote monitoring technology from CRIO. This allows our site monitors to access study data remotely, if desired. But, we’re flexible! If you prefer to come in and see us in person, we always have a designated spot just for you. We love to see you.

  • From our fridges, to our Minus 80 Freezer, to our refrigerated centrifuge, Clemente has our bases covered. We’ve got all of the necessary equipment (properly stored and secure) to efficiently and independently participate in studies. And, we always have space reserved for unique equipment needed for your study. We aren’t going to send you somewhere else.

Communication

  • We know proactive communication with our sponsors, Contract Research Organizations (CROs), patients, and staff is crucial when preparing and conducting trials. At Clemente we take it upon ourselves to make sure everyone involved is up-to-date and that everything we’re doing is fully transparent.

  • As an independent organization, we’re not beholden to the often sluggish administrative stipulations that come with a hospital or large institution. Clemente is able to make decisions and adjust to the unexpected quickly and adeptly. Our decision-making is governed by our guiding principles, not red tape. So, our vision to be the safeguard for our community’s healthcare and an advocate for meaningful change serves as our counsel when making important decisions.

  • Clemente is accessible 24/7.
